God's Provision

Long ago, in an adversely barren land,
A people chosen, led, protected, yet complained.
Considering not that out of the enemy's hand,
God had provided, and for them the victory gained.

Among them fiery serpents then were sent.
Their bite meant death, and many people died.
Seeing this then caused the people to repent.
"Pray the lord to remove them," they to Moses cried.

The provision made was not for them alone,
When Moses lifted up a brazen serpent on a pole,
To heal their flesh, but in it shown
Another lifting up, providing healing for the soul.

Simply by beholding the brazen serpent, then,
Gave life to them believing God's provision on the pole.
So likewise, by beholding God's offering for sin,
Gives life to them receiving God's Provision for the soul.
