I'm Sure It Must Be You

When evening shadows play their part
And night is drawing near;
A soft, warm tide spills 'cross my heart,
Too beautiful to bear.

From somewhere, far out in the night
Across a sea of dew,
Comes soft, warm laughter, clear and bright;
I'm sure it must be you.

It seems so real; It must be true;
It seems so clear and plain.
My soul goes out to look for you
But searches there in vain.

I've searched a million times before,
And never found a clue.
But still, I'll go on searching more;
I'm sure it must be you.
