PERFECT LOVE

                                     Love, a term that's encumbered with diversion,
                                    Bountifully used; But much misunderstood.
                                    A term applauded for engagement in perversion,
                                    But PERFECT LOVE, embraces all that is good.

                                    PERFECT LOVE, is manifest with patient kindness;
                                    Bears all things, Believes all things, Endures:
                                    A contrast to conjectural love in it's blindness;
                                    For It, this present world is void of allures.

                                    In It, we have the earnest of our inheritance,
                                    That our Savior has bought with His blood
                                    Shed abroad in our hearts, with no severance;
                                    Since we received Him, and by faith understood.

                                    So, if your love is just lust for worldly treasure
                                    That you will leave when you return to the sod:
                                    Choose the Love that excels all other pleasure,
                                    PERFECT LOVE, that's by the Spirit of our God.
