Welcome Guest

When each night I've closed my eyes in rest,
And problems cease to be.
I always have a welcome guest;
You come and visit me.

Each time I hear your precious feet
Upon the walk outside,
My soul doesn't wait; it goes to meet
And welcome you inside.

You're always in a hurry: yet,
I've noticed all the while,
That never once do you forget
To wear a lovely smile.

Sweetheart, I see it's getting late
And I'm as sleepy as can be,
So now, I'll close my eyes and wait,
For you to visit me.
